Being asked to deliver a speech or a reading at a wedding is a real honour but it can also be quite daunting. It’s not always easy to decide on how personal it should be and whether it should be funny or sentimental or both. Well that’s where I can help!

Over the last few years I have helped countless individuals and couples alike with their speech writing, readings and vows. Whether you are looking for something amusing, heart-warming or tear-jerking, we can work together to draw on the type of emotions you want your recipient or audience to feel and transform your thoughts, feelings and memories into a bespoke poem written in rhyming verse.

A bespoke poem is a beautiful way to add a unique and memorable touch to a wedding day. And it doesn’t have to be limited to a speech. The wording could even be added to paper, fabric or wood and used as part of your decor. The possibilities are endless!

What length of poem should I choose?

This is entirely up to you and depends heavily on the purpose of the poem. Shorter poems are great for personalising an item. For example, an embroidered handkerchief or an engraved keepsake box. Poems around 24 lines in length can be fairly detailed and yet can be beautifully presented on a single page. This makes them perfect for a welcome or thank you board at the entrance to your venue.

Longer poems can capture a lot more information and, as such, are ideal for a speech or a reading. To give an idea of timings, 24 lines will take approximately 1-2 minutes to read, 36 lines will take approximately 2-3 minutes and 48 lines will take approximately 3-4 minutes. How does it work?

If I require any further information whilst writing your poem I will contact you again via email. In some instances I may be able to work to short deadlines but when possible, please allow at least 3 weeks for me to work on a first draft of your poem. If you need your poem sooner than this then please contact me before placing your order.

How will I receive my poem?

Initially, I will send you a first draft of your bespoke poem in the body of an email. This is your opportunity to suggest any amendments to the content. I will then go away and finalise your poem before emailing you again with a beautifully formatted PDF of your poem attached. Sending the poem digitally not only ensures that you receive your poem quickly but it also gives you the freedom to decide how best to display it.
